By now, whenever you visit your blog post from your mobile, you won’t see any m=1 or m=0 suffix in the URL.

We will now take a closer look at why this suffix is shown by default in Blogspot URLs and what does it mean?

How does it affect our ranking if it drops our user experience or ranking?

The simple answer is:

  1. Yes it drops user experience 😩
  2.  No it won’t affect our rankings 😍

By default, some paid templates have the suffix option disabled, but you will also see this issue with more free templates

Why & When ?M=1 is showing in blogger URL?

Basically, “?m=1” appears in the URL when a visitor visits your website on a mobile device, since “?m=1” represents the mobile device.

On desktop or laptop visitors, this suffix will not appear. It only appears on mobile users.

Why do you need to remove “?m=1” from blogger URL?

As I told you, it will not directly affect your ranking, but it will affect your user experience. As we all know, that

User Experience = Rankings

You might not have seen any “?m=1” type of suffix in WordPress websites as without this suffix site looks professional and provide a good user experience.

The second & most important reason is, sometimes it creates some canonical error in the search console.

Because many newbies don’t ignore these types of URLs from Robots.txt. Due to the SEO-friendly theme, Google search console includes it as the canonical URL.
